Dear Rat Bastard who somehow stole my debit card number and has drained over $5k out of my bank account (including our tax return):
Remember this...karma is a bitch. And I have many many friends with very pointy needles, so you'd better hope we never come face to face.
Being that I'm dealing with this and having mini-nervous breakdowns every time I think about it, blogging will be a bit thin for the next week. But the Yarn Harlot is coming this weekend, so you know I'll be blogging about that!!! (And yes, I've taken action including bank damage control, police report, and fraud alerts. Supposedly I'll be reimbursed the money, but I'm not sure how they'll reimburse my sense of security and faith in humankind.)

Same thing happened to us last week! The bank did get the money back into our account within a few days. It really stunk. they only got about 1K from us. But watching checks that we had written come in and bounce was killing me. And a few payments were a couple of days late while waiting for the money to be credited back into our account.
Yeah to the Yarn Harlot! My girls and I will be in A2 on Sunday. (I can't believe it is almost here!)
Hang in there. :-) Enjoy the fabu weather!

Oh I live with this fear every time I use my debit card (always - as I almost never have cash)
Hang in there!

What is wrong with people? I know so many people this has happened to and it is truly scary. People suck sometimes.

Oh Amby, that's terrible. Hope everything works out. See you at the Harlot!

How awful. When I hear stories like this I have a tendency to check my bank balance a zillion times a day to make sure my money is still there, and it makes me want to quit using my debit card. What a nightmare.

Gah, that's horrible! Best wishes-- hope you get your money and your peace of mind back soon.

Oh how awful! I hope it gets resolved quickly. What a dreadful experience you must be having. Maybe knitting and the Harlot will help? And lots of soothing cups of tea.

What a bummer! I'm so sorry you had this happen to you. Makes everybody feel kinda paranoid, doesn't it.

Ack! I am so sorry that happened to you!!! Big hugs and recovery juju...

Been there done that, thanks to my CU staff catching it before it even cleared my account the damage was minimal. It was someone in Mumbai India! There are huge rings that steal and sell random numbers. I hope there is more being done to thwart these A-holes. Sorry to hear that they hit you, its a big pain in the a** and incredibly stressful, especially when it's your debit card.
See you at the Harlot, I'm going to be a dork and wear a name tag.
